Word For The Day, Monday, 12/12/11
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ephemeral;adj.
1. lasting a very short time; short-lived; transitory: the ephemeral joys of childhood. 2. lasting but one day: an ephemeral flower
Etymology: C16: from Greek ephēmeros lasting only a day, from hēmera day]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
After 27 years, i think i have him broken in... ; )
I make a hot crap dip similar to this: Saute about 1/2cup diced onion and some precooked chopped bacon - you can add sausage crumbles if you like - just long enough to cook the onions and heat the meats. Add 8 oz cream cheese until melted and smooth. Add in 8 oz good crab meat (be sure to pick over to remove any shells/bits) carefully then add about a cup or cup and a half of shredded monterrey jack cheese. Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly.
SNL did a bit a few weeks ago where someone mentioned those girls and the character said something like, " Oh, I thought I smelled stupid gypsie"

Yes. We have a detached garage, but there’s too much stuff in there to fit a car in there.
85 is a bit much. I might do 80 when passing a line of cars or big trucks. But I’m quite content cruising at 70 or so. I remember when it was all 55, so if I’m allowed 55, I do 65. I do 70 or 72 in a 65.
pretty sure the class pedant will make hay with the typo, but that sounds GREAT, i may have to do that one too! i had a crab dip recipe years ago but i don’t recall what all was in it. fatal to not pick out the crab shell bits, that is labor intensive, but worth it.
Darn, other than gypsy, what did I misspell?
it is a fine gift since she has to park outside. if xshub tried to pawn that off on me as a christmas gift, i would be miffed, since i am parked in the garage. What did i tell him yesterday NOT to get me, i am trying to recall. i did tell him something and said it was similar to getting the pots and pans he did one year. NOT A SMART MOVE on his part!
I don’t know. I was just contemplating a rude comment about heating the meat, but didn’t see anything stand out in your recipe.
Congrats to the Texans. Welcome to the real world.
hot crap dip.....
I thought she was bragging about her hot s#$% dip.
you are slipping, or you have a soft spot for whyisa, it’s one of the two... ; )
Oh, you two......Yeah Dave, the Texans are finally hitting the big time. Of course you still have the distinction of some of the dirtiest players in the NFL, and I hope we don’t ever have that “award”. although Suh is quickly closing in on Ward, huh?
Holy cow - even after searching my post, reading your post I STILL didn’t see the error until just now! You are so right - that is a great one to attack me with..... Dave obviously was just wanting to tease me about the Texans and wasn’t really paying attention to my post.
Keep doing well and people might start to imagine you are dirty, too.
I see tackles and hits in just about every NFL game that go without penalty or fine, which would be considered horrible by the league if the Steelers did it.
Ward is guilty of nothing more than not being afraid to block, like most prima donna receivers are.
What tease? I said congratulations and welcome to the big time. That was sincere. It’s good for the NFL for expansion teams to find success
Sounds like Soros is trying to take Norway down via its Christmas baking. ;-)
