The Nook Tablet’s email client is fairly basic: after you open a message, a Reply button appears at the bottom of the screen.

Since both Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet have access to the Internet over Wifi, you can also log in to your email account using the web browser. The web browser interface might work better than the device’s email app. This could be a handy alternative for your friend if she has something like Gmail.

I don’t even give a rip about the Kindle OR the Nook and I’m finding this a damn entertaining thread.

Thanks LOL!

I will mention it to her. I told my husband I want the Nook Tablet rather than another Kindle. I will see what I get Christmas morning. Thanks.

I bought 6 of these droids for my grandkids.

Price was 190 each.

Deal maker was the camera and 10 inch screen for video and games. I know there are issues with the camera displaying backwards but the company says this will be rectified with next droid upgrade.

We'll see. :-}

I got an iPad for my granddaughter. My Kindle has a keyboard across the bottom. I do get some of the newer books on it. I just can not hold a hardback anymore. I still use it for games, especially word games.

Yes, mine has a keyboard at the bottom, too. I had no idea there were word games for it, I must look into that! (I’ve only ever used mine for books).

Other than the light— I like the cover for my Kindle because it allows me to hold it as if it is cover-less or like a regular book. I suspect I may have arthritis starting because I have fits with my hands sometimes.

I also believe a medium to larger breed dog is a needed accessory— I scoot my snoozing, pooting, loudly snoring 72 lb Boxer around so that I can use her to prop against.

A medium size dog is probably the better option on the ease of positioning scale. I don’t think a small breed dog would allow enough positioning options and cats are too fickle to allow such. I would go with medium sized pup. But not much beats a Boxer! :)

You have a lucky granddaughter an Ipad is a super nice gift!

my friend just got a kindle fire and she said while she can read her email, she cannot respond.

Tell her to look at the bottom menu on the screen. There is a little icon there that looks like an arrow pointing to the right. When you press that another menu pops up and you can choose "reply", "reply all" or "forward".

OH, good. I will tell her. Can you, also, post on FR from one? or from a Nook Tablet?

Every Word is the first one that I got. Now I am addicted to Every word: Crossings. I don't have a light for mine, but I live alone so there has been no need for it. I got a Nook cover for mine.

My other granddaughter wants a laptop for Christmas/birthday/graduation. She is checking them out.

Seriously, lucky and obviously loved and loving grandchildren that you have there. God Bless you all and Merry Christmas!

I can’t wait! DH has told me to mail my present kindle to my son as a Christmas present. It’s loaded with a year’s worth of books I have read and he will read. And I get a new one. Cannot wait!

There is no password protection on the Fire. If it is lost or stolen, someone can use it to download off the Amazon site using your open account. So far Amazon has not done anything to prevent this.

Little off topic but your comment offers me a chance to ask...

I am waiting for Monday morning to call but Sat I received an email from Discover that said they have had several failed attempts to access my account and they deactivated my account.

It directs me to links to use but I haven’t.

I’ve not used the card in a while, so I don’t have a clue and now I’m scared to even check it online.

Also, my card expired a few months back and I don’t have a current one.

I don’t know why but I just thought they didn’t send a new one because I haven’t used it in a coons-age.

Anybody else get any of this? I am trying to decide if it is a scam or I really have something to fret about.

Thanks.

Don’t click on any links in the email. Call them up and ask tomorrow.
