It’s easy to do, I find. Just go “low and slow”. Youtube has a bunch of clips about how to practice it and amplify it into a “power fry”. Lordy.

So that's what's it called. I was listening to an audio book from
Librivox, and one reader really dragged out the last syllable of
each sentence, adding the 'fry.

Not that I'm complaining about the books being free, but it's enough of
a concentration hiccup changing readers between chapters, let
alone accents and genders, but the "stylists" are really annoying.

Still a lot better than the existing stockpile of machine read stuff.
