He was only trying to make a folksy appeal to conservative Christians in Iowa.
And what he had to say was unlikely to cause much controversy with the evangelicals who dominate the Republican Party's caucuses there.
But when Presidential hopeful Rick Perry donned a brown jacket and spoke to the camera for his latest campaign ad he didn't expect to be so widely mocked.

Perry fans should be happy, they are now moving on from the jacket and focusing on Perry not remembering how many Supreme Court justices there are.
LOL
Crap, I've got the overalls and vest that match the jacket.
.
I know
The other day a WI nutcase group tried to stop all Christmas decorations in another state
I believe a Judge told them to buzz off
It boggles me how our country has changed and I don’t think the young people are really aware of what all’s happening. They are busy with their lives and don’t read news like we do. I love to say Merry Christmas to every store clerk.
I remember years ago when I was looking for a life size Nativity scene for my yard and Walmart was the only store that had them. Many stores didn’t have any size Nativity scenes and I mentioned it to the store managers. - showing my displeasure.
Not the same jacket. Rick Perry's has the horizontal seam at the chest. It's similar to Carhartt which is a brand sponsoring Van and Bonnie out of Des Moines who just won the Marconi. It's worn by lots of farmers and people who do construction, operate machinery.
The article and all who hype it should go ask the closet President GaGa why the rush to put homosexuals in the services.
Go ask the very different Hillary why the push to publicly hype homosexual rights in the world.
We have an economy run into the ground intentionally by the crypto Islamo-Commie degenerate doper and the fairies are shrieking about a jacket.
Texas is the envy of the other states for fiscal health and high employment.
Don't bring the BarackBack Mountain of sickness to FR.
.
In the past there were many on FR that were “sensitive” about “Christmas” and the terrible use of the greeting “Merry Christmas” displayed in stores
But in 2008 a huge percent of a few groups decided to vote from 70%-97% for Obama and seem to have drifted from FR to HuffPost or elsewhere now and celebrating “Festivus” or some other made-up day
Stores now are displaying Merry Christmas again and trashing the Happy Holidays stuff - It seems that buyers want to but “Christmas” presents - not “holiday” presents
.
Yep, the insulated overalls are great.
You can hunt or work in temps below zero. The outer shell won’t pick up burrs and will even put up a fight against barbed-wire.
Hey Leon, you dumb$h!t........I’m a woman and I put a carhart coat on my Christmas list because they’re WARM when folks are out on their farms working their a$$ez off ~
Whudda PUTZ
BTW Leon Dumb$h!t, it wasnt an anti gay Ad.......
I’ve found HuffPost harder to ‘get on’ than many other sites. Lots of javascript or something there but it may just be this computer.
It’s always hard to see non conservative things happen in a conservative town. I marvel at some of the ‘letters to the editor’ and many of them sound very uneducated.
.
DU is a lovely site too
The DUers are ever so sophisticated and brilliant
