Isn’t that true for those needing eye surgery? They’re asked to quit smoking some months before the procedure is done, mainly for recovery reasons?

I think it’s true for most surgery. With both surgeries I had they told me not to smoke (don’t anyway). They told my father back in the 70s that he needed to stop smoking after surgery, which he did not. He experienced several complications from it until he laid the butts aside. These interactions have been known for a while.
