As a beer-drinker, I whole-heartedly agree. No Bud, Miller, or Schlitz.

There are plenty of good American beers, but they are local. The nearest thing to a wide selling American beer that’s good is Sam Adams.

If I were doing the contract with her, I’d say, fine, your choice. And then maybe afterwards try to introduce her to a few good American beers.

Oddly enough, I can get a 12-pack of Beck, Heineken, or Stella Artois at the supermarket here in Vermont for the same price as a good local beer or Sam Adams, so I sometimes do.

For those of you lucky enough to live near big metro areas, I've been enjoying the brewhouse restaurant beers such as BJs Brewhouse, DuClaw's, Gordon Biersch, Stoudt's Brewing and Fox Valley Brewers. Here in Wisconsin, we have many microbrews to choose from as well. New Glarus and Sand Creek are very nice.
