Please understand, this is not my wish for this to happen, but it indeed will.

Case in point: whatever came of those first four women that Cain was supposed to have sexually harassed? NOTHING! So, what happens: the Leftists march out another woman making unsubstantiated claims against Cain.

Here’s the point: it really doesn’t matter if the allegations are true or not. Even FReepers were sucked into saying: “You know, these allegations are a distraction for Cain...he needs to drop out.” Do you really think the media are going to sit back and say: “Yep, we’ve already hit Perry with both barrels...guess we’d better just accept that he rising in the polls.” No and Heck no!

If you think the media went after Perry hard early on, you ain’t seen nothing yet. That will look like child’s play if it looks like he might clinch the GOP primary. When Republicans actively decided to accept the Dems premise that mere allegations against GOP candidates was problematic, they opened the doors fully to the Leftists in determining who, and who wasn’t a viable candidate.

As I’ve said, what’s most sad about this, is that FReepers (many of whom were Perry supporters) actually joined in the chorus with Politico in castigating Mr. Cain, not realizing that the same thing WILL happen to every other GOP candidate who rises in the primary ranks.

I have a bad feeling that we’ve doomed ourselves by siding with leftists as they destroy our candidates. We are in big trouble. Cain’s deciding to drop out has confirmed that point very well.

That’s one of my concerns as well. The power of the media is only as strong as we allow it to be. Short of serious criminal convictions, people have got to stand behind the candidates.

If people saw that conservatives were filling up the stadiums and halls and auditoriums and cheering the candidates as if they were rock stars, the media would shut up and Americans would see the support given and the effect would rub off on the candidates.

It’s our doubts about the candidates that is causing them to deflate in public, not the media.

I agree.

Caiin’s base deserted him because of unsubstantiated claims.

What a disgusting situation - but it’s happened before - with Sarah and others. Too many weak kneed right holier than thou right wingers.
