Harvard Students Set Out to Prove the ‘Miracles of Tim Tebow’
larrybrownsports.com ^ | Dec 2, 2011 | Steve DelVecchio

How exactly has Tim Tebow been winning games? The Denver Broncos have been the beneficiaries of a complete resurgence since Tebow was named the starter. Although Kyle Orton has proven to be a viable starter in the NFL, he could not get the job done with the team they have assembled in Denver. Yet using the exact same team and barely ever throwing the ball, Tebow has very little but win. A group of Harvard students known as the Harvard Sports Analysis Collective recently set out to figure out why that has been the case.

I might be wrong since I went to non-elite, podunk private college in a small Southern town.

Yup...face it, you're just a dumb hick / S

These northeastern elitist snobs are just so much smarter and wear snappier clothes too...

He was pretty good on the “Hail Mary” throws.

The God Advantage is a real effect and measurable even by atheists. On average the religious are healthier, live longer lives, have better marriages, do better in school, and win more in war, sports, and business. You can dispute how it works, but it works and is an indisputable competitive advantage.

Mark my words. If Tebow and the Broncos somehow win the AFC West and make the playoffs, they WILL go to the Super Bowl.

Big "If" and no way the Donks get to the SB...but it's OK to dream big....

Hey, my Bucs are going to the SB too....just not this year....

I would like to see them throw on first down sometimes, I bet defensive coordinators appreciate that they always run on first.

*The offensive line was not protecting him in the debut, last week he had near-Brady protection -that really helps
*Tebow is a gifted athlete, seems faster than many tight ends that creates unpredictable situations on 3rd down.
*The Broncos defense is very stiff. They seem to get Tebow the ball back 2-3 extra times for the “prayer” drives.

I like watching the Broncos, it feels like the Superbowl every time for me, knowing that so many haters are out there.

The fact he can pull off a read option shows he is worth a lot.

Give him 5 years of read option, and if he makes it, he’ll be winning Super Bowls or end up injured for the year and traded off.

I bet Jesus could throw a football a quarter mile.

I don't know why but I literally did laugh out loud over that one.

So his legs are a huge offset to his poor passing yardage

I watched his last game and Tebow's first several throws were flat dropped by the receivers. It may be his south paw spin on his passes are hard to handle, shades of the young Kenny "the Snake" Stabler. His receivers will catch on with practice or the Cowboys can get receivers that can catch a lefty.

He is a strong, running quarterback with a funny arm I wish him luck but he’s not Jesus.

I admit I was merely having a bit of fun. The Jets defense folded like a cheap camera, and they deserved to lose.

He did throw fairly well. It seemed in earlier games that he was just too amped up on his throws. I suspect the game is starting to slow down and he’s beginning to relax, which leads to better accuracy. Perhaps his receivers are just surprised they need no longer leap nor dive!

In college he threw a very accurate and a very hard ball and it can take a receiver group a half a season or so to get used to that sort of velocity. I say it again, these experts and sports writers are smokin too much reefer.

He still chucks it. Part of his maturation will be learning when to take something off.

Sandy Koufax became a great pitcher once he finally listened to his catcher, Norm Sherry, and quit trying to throw every pitch as hard as he could. Nolan Ryan never figured that out.

Jeff George had a great arm--still does, undoubtedly--but never achieved. Joe Montana was great and never knocked anyone over. Lots of guys can throw hard, but accuracy counts. Ask Rodgers, Brady and Brees. Last year Brees took on an Olympic archer in a filmed contest aiming at bullseyes--Brees won.

he's fun to watch...I hope he continues to win games and drive the elite smarmy sports jocks crazy.....

“0bama is like a bad mechanic who couldn’t fix your car; he just makes it worse.”

I seevhim as the mechanic who offers free inspection and, in inspecting your car, he breaks something and then announces that it needs fixing for X number of dollars.

“The Progressives won’t let Tebow go until he is ground into the dirt under their feet. Anything or anyone with the breath of decency is unacceptable to them.”

Correct. You get 100% for today’s quiz.

I’m still trying to figure out how these pampered, limp-wristed, pasty-faced, northeastern liberals become aware of the game of football.
