Republicans are understandably leery of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romneys Conservative credentials: Hes a stereotypical politician from a liberal state whose flip-flops are legion. But many also assume this flip-flopper is a liberal pretending to be a conservative in order to win the Republican nomination. Not necessarily so. Far more plausible, Romney has been a closet conservative for most of his political life, and upon being elected president he would come out of the closet. To ascertain if Romney truly leans conservative, judge him not by his words but by his actions.

The headline is just silly, there is no real Romney.
Either way - that’s the problem.
A train needs an engine in front and a caboose at the back.
An engine on both ends makes no sense!
sorry, I’m not willing to take that risk
I am no Romney fan. I think he is Plasticman. But he would be better than the incumbent. Any of the Republicans would be better than the incumbent.
OK, lets judge him by his actions...Romneycare, tax increases, and failure to defend marriage as Governor of MA.. EPIC FAIL.
Ditto. And prayers that cool and reasonable heads will prevail should he get the nomination.
Yes. I’ve been saying that for months. The worst Republican candidate is still 1000 times better than the Muslim Marxist.
Isnt any of these people a risk though? What guarantee do you have with any of them?
Like many have said...not even Ronald Reagan would pass all the litmus tests today that Republican voters are putting every candidate through. Reagan was at one time a Democrat. He did favor amnesty in 1986. Those two things alone, even if he claimed he changed, would disqualify him in the minds of today’s conservative voters who are demanding perfection along with a 150% conservative record. Traits that do not exist in ANY Republican in this nation.
In the end, most politicians are flip-floppers and so are most people in general. Few people think a certain way their entire life.
Our primary goal is to defeat Obama, win the senate and increase majority in the house. I too will vote for Romney if he is the GOP nominee. No write-in, no third party, no refusal to vote.
The difference is that Romney's actions for his entire life have been uniformly liberal; he has not changed in any visible way except for the words that his advisers wrap around the liberal actions. Romney speaks out of both sides of his mouth, but he only acts in one direction, and that direction favors a large far left fringe government. He would probably drive us toward socialism more slowly than Obama does, but it's the destination that worries me, not the speed.
He is just kidding us -——RiGHT????
Too funny, why can't he come out of the closet now?
My cool and reasonable head will look elsewhere. I’ve gone down the RINOroad for the last time
Come out of the closet regarding the hoax of Mormonism would be a first step in the right direction. If he could be honest about that I might listen.
But alas, it would only be a convenient pandering flip-flop.
Romney is the proven-deceptive, Mexican carpetbagger
from the DNC who is ineligible but quite a good poser.
It’s not possible that Romney is a closet conservative. Many may have thought, however, of GWB because GHWB was to the right of George W. Romney.
Ultimately the power of the RINOs comes right out of the Republican presidential primaries, and it is our own people empowering the RINO “leadership.”
Wait until all the stories come out about his dealings while at Bain Capital. Romney is one ruthless, sneaky SOB.
I think that if Romney had come out and said that Romneycare was an attempt by the state to work out the healthcare problem..but that it has proved to NOT work as envisioned, I think it would be better. Same with amnesty...we tried that in 1986 and the hope was that they would seal the border...didn’t happen. Flip-flopping on policy is not so bad IF the candidate explains why he has changed his position. The problem with Romney is the pro-life and other moral issues...his church has traditionally taken pro-life views BUT he has not...now THAT’S a flip-flop that is hard to accept.
