Rick Perry, Corps of Cadets 1969 TX A&M
Rick Perry served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Texas A&M
C-130 Rick Perry: He flew the world before politics .
Perry could count on one hand the number of trips he had taken out of his home state by the time he graduated from Texas A&M University, but everything changed when he joined the Air Force.
Flying C-130s, Perry lived in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He flew in Central and South America, North Africa and all over Europe.
"I saw all of these different types of governments and I made the connections to how the people acted and looked, and it became abundantly clear to me that, at that particular point in time, that America was this very unique place and that our form of democracy was very rare," Perry said. " ... That was the greatest gift I received from my years of being in the military, and they really shaped my outlook on the rest of my life."
.....Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Air Force, completed pilot training and flew C-130 tactical airlift in the United States, the Middle East, and Europe until 1977. He left the Air Force with the rank of captain, returned to Texas and went into business farming cotton with his father.

Gov. Rick Perry participates in ceremonies at Camp Mabry to redesignate the 49th Armored Division as the 36th Infantry Division. The former 49th Armored Division, which consists of approximately 12,000 soldiers, makes up almost two-thirds of the Texas National Guard. The division's redesignation as the 36th Infantry Division is part of the Texas Army National Guard's transition from a heavy armored force to a more versatile infantry force.

Not a good campaign slogan:
Our candidate is dumber than yours;)
Perry is an Einstein compared to OFudgePackula.
I guess since Gov. Rick Perry has been at the helm of the 15 largest economy in the world for ten years, and helped it flourish while the rest of the world collapses — you might say that Gov. Rick Perry is the smartest executive on the planet.
Obama is not dumb, Obama is an EVIL LIAR and TYRANT want to be.
Perry is like all men, has his flaws. But Perry is a Texan.
My cat is smarter than Obama!
Yes indeed; the very likeable and very lucky Rick Perry.
Has Perry resorted to this? Come on. Can’t compare. Perry is not a smart man but neither is Obama. Both are very below average in intellect. So I will say it is a toss-up. Remember the question is not who is more American or more patriotic. It says who is smarter and if people are honest and put down the pom-poms then they will come to the conclusion that both have low average intelligence.
Is there anyone at the English Embassy who can speak Austrian?
Don’t you mean, Australian?
LOL!
I’ve had a hard time making up my mind. It looks like Perry is the best of the Lot all things considered. I refuse to stay home or vote third party. Those that do are going to be responsible for the finishing off of this exceptional country.
I read somewhere several times that GWB from on high thinks Perry, his former lieutenant governor, is “dumb”. If so, that means Perry can’t be resurrected. So many in our party still think GWB was a “success.”
This was absolutely GREAT!
Not knowing when to get off the Cain Train doesn't make you a genius. :)
“It looks like Perry is the best of the Lot”
I agree. Moral issues bother me a lot more than somebody’s ability to debate (Newt), and somebody who can admit he followed bad advice and would not make the same decision again is more appealing to me than getting one’s shorts in a knot when asked to explain his change of positions (Mitt).
Just ask O to show us the extra 7 states.
I think you are the only one who actually watch the video!
Guys, do yourselves a favor and stop bringing Obama into it. The Republican nominee is simply not going to get the pass on this stuff that Teh Awesome does, no matter who he or she is. The sooner you (and more to the point, your candidates) accept that and adjust for it, the happier you all will be.
Actually a Bachmann/Sanotrum ticket would be incredible, but the liberal republicans would never allow for such a conservative ticket. Even people on this site are not conservative.
