I like the guy, and respect the way he stands up for his faith. Of course, with the execptions of idolaters, cultists and Islamists, I respect anyone’s zeal for his faith.
If I could have dinner with five athletes of my choice, Tim Tebow would be one of them. Fran Tarkenton might be another.
Josh Hamilton, Nolan Ryan, Emmitt Smith. A definite southern trend but not intentional. But why not.
I keep telling the people that remember he has only played what? 10 games in the NFL? Elway sucked his first full year.. This is why I hate journolists. They hate for no other reason then to hate.
He’s never captured a live dinosaur. :)
Gay says Tebow is too chicken to run for President. He’s only 24—the first election he will be eligible is in 2024. Besides, he was born in the Philippines. Since both of his parents were American citizens, that shouldn’t be a problem, but maybe in 2024 the Democrats will suddenly become sticklers for the rules (real or imaginary). But he may want to wait until 2028 or 2032 and keep playing football.
When you think about it, football is FAR secondary to that. God bless him.
His 56 yard touchdown a few weeks back looked like a perfect throw. If he could do that consistently...
I think Elway’s comments about Tebow were negatively exaggerated by the press.
AFAIK, when asked if he thought Tebow was the long term answer to the Bronco QB problem, Elway answered that in order for that to be, Tebow needs to improve his passing accuracy.
That makes sense to me, as no QB is going to last in the NFL
carrying the ball 15 times-a-game with a 45% pass completion average. Even Tebow’s most rabid fans cannot argue that Tebow is better than a mediocre passer. (by NFL standards)
I’ve been a Bronco fan since ‘63 and am pulling for
Tebow’s success as much as anyone.
As of today I don’t believe he has shot himself with a gun or needle; nor shot any female member of his family or friends; nor has he trained, fought or bet on dogs; arrested for any felonies or misdemeanors, or been arrested as many other so called athletes.
He also never promised that Hope and Change BS!
He did tell the team he would play the at best level he could. The team has coalesced around that.
Well, I watched Tebow beat my Sooners for a national championship, and hated the result.
But Tebow himself I admired. He’s a winner.
Saw Elway against the Sooners many years ago, but don’t remember anything except he was quite a passer.
Amen.
I’ve been a Broncos fan all my life (heresy I know living in South Alabama).
Everyone needs to get off this young man, and let him do his job, and just enjoy the game.
Does he need to be better? Sure. So did Elway when he started, and lets go back (another team) and look at Joe Namaths first few years. ;)
