But, Cain seems to confirm the affair in his own statement, through his lawyer:

Thing is, if it is true, what are we gonna do, vote for Newt, who is a serial cheater? Newt is no better. It all seems to point to Romney...the family man.

I'm still holding out hope for Cain. I'd like to see more evidence.

I can forgive some of his misstatements and foibles - the man hasn't spent his whole life campaigning and it takes cohones to run for President in today's environment without holding a series of public offices.

I'd personally rather not vote for a man who can't keep his vows to his wife given that we expect him to give his word to uphold the Constitution as part of his office. But even if I were to overlook an affair by Mr. Cain, what bugs me is the stupidity and recklessness of thinking he could run without it coming out and then denying it even as it has come out (of course, it makes perfect sense if this is a Rat setup and Cain is innocent).

Perhaps my judgement of character isn't worth much, but where Clinton seemed like exactly the sort of man who would have a string of liasons and affairs, Cain doesn't seem to give off that vibe. There were plenty of people who knew who Clinton really was and were vocal about it. That hasn't been true of Cain so far - in fact, the exact opposit has been true.

I need to see a little more hard evidence before I throw in the towel on Herman. There are a quarter of a billion people in this country. If you could "drag a dollar through a trailer park" to find women to accuse WJC, then certainly dragging a few dollars through the entire country will find a few women to accuse any man running for high office.

I meet with mature, senior, gentlemen every week. I will do so tomorrow. They are members of my Kiwanis Club. Yet, this meets the definition of "private, alleged consensual conduct between adults". Am I having an "affair"? No. Except by your definition.

When it's stated he was consoling her, and trying to give her direction, that too can be considered "private, alleged consensual conduct between adults".
