The Atlanta woman who says she was Herman Cains mistress for 13 years is a down-on-her-luck single mom who once sued a former employer for sexual harassment.
Ginger White surfaced in bombshell fashion on Monday, telling an Atlanta TV station that shes not proud of what she described as long-running sexual shenanigans with the married GOP White House contender.
I didnt want to come out this way, she said in an interview with Atlantas FOX affiliate WAGA-TV that put Cain on the defensive even before it was aired.
White described herself in the interview as a jobless former businesswoman. She is middle-aged, has two children and was evicted from her Atlanta home earlier this month, according to a background check done by the TV station.
WAGA reporters also found records showing she has been hit with several eviction notices in DeKalb County, Ga., over the past six years.
She filed for bankruptcy 23 years ago, the station reported. In 2001, she also filed a sexual harassment suit, which was later settled, according to the station.
Her former business partner, Kimberly Vay, once sued her and accused her of stalking, the station reported.
Vay, who did not respond to calls for comment Monday, also sought an order of protection against White, charging that she was bombarded with emails and texts threatening [a\] lawsuit and defaming her character.
A judge ruled in favor of Vay in a libel suit she had filed against White, the station reported.
White admits she has struggled as a single mother, but added that her financial woes shouldnt define her.
I dont think that makes me out to be a bad person, she told the station. It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.
White said she ignored the fact Cain was married during their alleged affair, which she said included trysts in hotel rooms across the country. She says they met at a business conference during the 1990s.
It was pretty simple, White told WAGA. It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship.
Cain, 65, who has been married for 43 years, went on CNN to deny the affair before Whites complete WAGA-TV interview was broadcast live.
His lawyer, Lin Wood, told the TV station that because White hasn't alleged harassment or assault, the matter doesn't belong in the news.
The public's right to know and the media's right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one's bedroom door, Wood wrote.
White said she came forward because she is upset over how Cain handled previous allegations that he sexually harassed four women, two of whom reportedly received cash settlements from the National Restaurant Association, where he was CEO during the 1990s.
It bothered me that they were being demonized, sort of; they were treated as if they were automatically lying, and the burden of proof was on them, White said. I felt bad for them.
Cain, the former head of the Godfathers Pizza chain, was running near the top of the polls before the claims of sexual harassment broke.
Last week, Cain dropped to third place in a national GOP poll run by Quinnipiac University. He came in with 14% of the vote, behind ascendant former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
He said Monday he would stay in the race as long as he had his wifes support. But White put even more pressure on him, offering what she said was proof of the alleged hush-hush romance.
She gave the TV station loads of cell phone records, and Cains personal cell phone, which he answered when someone from the station called it.
She also gave the stations reporter two books Cain signed for her. In one of them, his 2001 autobiography CEO of SELF, Cain added a little note: Friends are forever! Everything else is a bonus.
I’m surprised the MSM haven’t moved on to destroy Gingrich
yet?
—Question..if Cain were a Democrat, what would we all eb sayign about him now?—
Well, I remember the Gennifer Flowers case. I actually have a book signed by her.
Hers was believable from the start. Same accusations - same surface similarities - but a completely different story under the surface. And very easily believable.
Which is why nobody was surprised that it was true.
1 DNA
2 Unambiguous video, audio, or hard copy evidence
3 Admission of guilt by Cain himself
These would be acceptable evidence. And so far we have none. We can only consider the source, and she doesn’t look good at all.
They have so much ammo on him that they figure he'll be easy to finish off when the time is right.
—He should be a little more discriminating in the women he chooses to befriend.—
She is not the woman she was back then. That is an important distinction to make. I have a lot of past acquaintances that I have not seen for decades. Of those I actually know the whereabouts of, some are very (VERY!) successful and others are complete losers. But “back in the day” we were peers.
Well I doubt it! Mistresses don't get evicted so frequently.
But, curiously, he has said that this isn't a matter of concern for the public or the press because it is between consenting adults.
—I said at the very start that we have got to stop attaching ourselves to personalities and look at policies and competence.—
Sounds like something you need to tell the democrats. Regarding Cain, I’m focused on his track record.
The truth shall set you free.
In the near future we will find out what is true.
This woman is being slaughtered here in FR and perhaps rightfully so. Perhaps she is the biggest scumbag who ever walked.(I know she isn’t, I have an ex daughter in law who takesthat title). But anyway she may be all of what she has been called here and more. That is not really the point.
The point is did she have sex with Herman Cain for 13 years, and was she his mistress for that time.
I guess we will have to wait and see.If she came forward with this information and it is untrue, she belongs in a cell.

Actually that is my focus with ALL the candidates.
The tome zones the calls were placed in needs to be taken into account.
ACK! TIME zones.
While that doesn't speak well for someone who promises repeatedly to surround himself with superb advisors...some lawyers can be imbeciles, and some can be bought, too. Just sayin!
"It's not the facts that matter, it's the seriousness of the charge." Hmm, where have I heard that before?
I continue to be amazed at how easily Conservative opinion is manipulated by the media.....
—one would expect the attorney to respond accordingly...
But, curiously, he has said that this isn’t a matter of concern for the public or the press because it is between consenting adults.—
Lin does not do what “one would expect” an attorney to do. That is why he is paid so much. He is thinking a few moves ahead. I’m anxious to see where he is going with that.
Honey, the burden of proof is on them! They brought the accusations, it's up to them to prove they're true.
So, Ginger, if what you say is true, where are the emails, the text messages, all the expensive gifts? Show us the ticket stubs from all those trips you took.
Herman's still on my list until I see some proof.
I have 3 Newt’s, 2 William Fortschen, 1 Charlie Halleck, 1 Omar Bradley, 1 William L. Shirer, and 2 P. Tsouras

According to the article, she provided phone records to the news station that showed many calls from Cains private cell# with some occurring at 4 am and 6am. Doesn’t prove an affair but at least its more proof than any other woman who has accused him.
What you say about lawyers and advisers is true, but not for Lin Wood. He is the very best and, from what I hear, cannot be bought.
