When I marched with The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (Drum Corps), back in the early sixties, we called that "popcorn" ... it was for the popcorn eaters that liked flash and show and mostly had no clue of the techniical talent in performing such feats.

THAT sir, was perfectly buttered and salted with tears.

The M&M was supurb

Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, contrabass, ‘83-’86.
That was well executed. I know the difficulty of coordinating that many people on a field.

You marched w/ the Crusaders??? Awesome! Had a couple of friends tour with Southwind, but, unfortunately, SW folded. First year in band (flag corps) my instructor was from the Madison Scouts. He later went to be an instructor at Bama.

Our uniforms went from the traditional to ‘Bridgemen’ my Jr year in HS. When I became drum major, I used to have a time with that ‘10 gallon hat’. Was 5’0”....and ALL HAT. LOL! Thank goodness I had a high enough podium. ;-)

I miss the ‘good ol’ days’ for marching band. 6 years of my life (4 years HS/ 2 years university). Loved it, loved, it, loved it!

And you are right. Some have no idea what it’s like to pull a show like that together.
