(I will say the Coast Guard formation confused me a bit... turned upside down?)

They’re playing to ‘both sides of the field’ and not just ‘pressbox side’...which is what most shows play to. I’m glad they did it that was because it gives the entire crowd a good show...not just one side.

I agree, Rushy! This was so beautiful, creative and patriotic... they had to share it with the visitors!

Marching bands do not play both sides of the field. It’s one side or the other. At an away game, they play to the home (away) side. At home, they play to their own side. I know this as I have many years of marching band experience. I don’t know what the Coast Guard formation is supposed to be, but I am going to find out! it doesn’t make sense that this marching band would do their show with one and ONLY one of the military branches up side down. I agree, though, it DOES look upside down, but as marching bands go, it just doesn’t make sense.
