The flute was a big part of rock music in the early 70s, and not just Jethro Tull.

Peter Gabriel played a lot of flute on the early Genesis albums, Chicago used the flute on songs like “Color My World.” Even Kraftwerk, before totally going electric, used the flute extensively on some of their early songs.

Yes they did. Loved Chicago’s use of ‘big brass’ in the background (Earth, Wind and Fire also a fave). My roommate at college used to make fun of my because I would hum the brass parts while I got ready for the day when playing their tapes.

Another GREAT fave of mine is Steely Dan. Hubby got front row/center seats for my b’day.
