An entire family from Edgewater, Fla., is missing in a case that has local law enforcement puzzled.
Karen Burger, 57, along with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson, have not been seen since July of this year, according to police.
Burgers elderly father, Maxwell Lee, initially reported his daughter as missing in August although she had not been seen for nearly a month prior.
The case is complicated by Burgers alleged drug-abuse problem, according to a police bulletin.
After authorities began to investigate Burgers disappearance in the fall, they realized that her daughter, Christina Hilgefort, son-in-law, Allen Hilgefort, and their two-year-old son had also disappeared, possibly around the same time that Burger went missing.

Look in the canals. There is a story like this every few years in FL. A wrong turn puts a car into a canal or retention pond, and they literally disappear, only to be found by accident years later.
I was just going to say that....they find cars in the canals all the time....
Exactly. Canals. Happens all the time. Usually they find the car in the bottom of a lake or canal 20 years after the party disappears.
Hmmmmmm. Dexter lives in Florida.
Trinity Killer may have done it before Dexter chopped him up.
But what are the odds of members of the same family making wrong turns into canals days apart? One makes a wrong turn. A couple days later, the others make a wrong turn. Sure, they probably all ended up gator bait but getting to there is the question.
Drug hit pure and simple. Forgetit.
Yep. Any roadside or close by standing water.
This is true, sadly. Here in southern NJ there are a lot of ‘’retirement’’ communities and every once and a while an ‘’elderly man/woman goes missing ‘’and sure enough, usually at the bend in a road a few yards ‘’down the embankment’’ as the story always appears in the papers, rescuers find the ‘’occupant’’ in the car dead. I pray the Lord this family is found safe and sound.
Maybe they went for an evening swim in the pool where the alligators like to wait.....
Reading the story, though, it doesn’t appear that they know when any of them disappeared. They just know when they were last seen by others who they’ve questioned. So they could have all disappeared on the same day.
