MOSCOW, - A Russian TV station said it has dismissed a news anchor for flipping the bird while reading an item about U.S. President Barack Obama.

REN TV said it dismissed anchor Tatiana Limanova after she made the obscene gesture while saying the president's name during a Nov. 14 story about the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation conference, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

However, officials with the TV station said Limanova's gesture was not aimed at Obama but rather at "editorial staff" colleagues who were attempting to distract her from off-camera.

"This does not diminish her guilt and cannot be considered an excuse. The REN TV management views this action as the gravest violation of on-air discipline and a demonstration of unprofessionalism," the station said in a statement.

Whooo-daddy! A redhead - that explains a lot!

Now there’s a tightly packed bundle of mischief if I ever saw one.

Some of you good ol’ Texas FReepers oughtta take up a collection and invite this little Rooskie firecracker to your next hog roast / tailgate party. She might even enjoy one of your rodeos. What’s the worst that can happen? - She rats out your secret BBQ sauce recipe to the KGB or something?

Golly; I hope she speaks English; It seems we recently heard of a conservative TV network setting up in Florida. Might they be able to find room for a spicy exotic Russian commentator who shares our sentiments about our pretender-in-chief?

C’mon now; how many FReepers just fell in love with this rascal as soon as we saw her flip off the Kenyan King of Contempt?

Thanks for that nice portrait Joe; The first one had her eyes closed - and she looks a lot better with ‘em open IMHO.

Don’t we have any FR contacts over in Russia?

Someone needs to contact this lady somehow and let her know how many American Conservatives adore her and what a fan following she has. The poor dear is possibly all depressed over her firing - perhaps despondent even... and that simply will not do!

Does anyone have twitter or facebook contacts over there? Look her up if you can, won’t you - and convey our fondest regards!

You just took me for a ride in the "WAY BACK MACHINE"... and I thank you for it. I wish we lived in the America of our youth... where kids played as Marines hitting the beach at IWO and Roy Rogers and Sky King were our heroes... and Hollywood loved America instead of hating her... and the world trembled when we walked... because the world was evil and America was good and the proof is how many times we have saved this sinful planet. Do we have the strength to save ourselves? I think that we do... but it will be hard work and hopefully it will be a peaceful transformation... but one way or the other... America will return to greatness. We owe it to the great men that founded this Republic... and we owe it to ourselves and Americans that will be here when we are long gone.
