Loved the list with one exception, and especially loved the anecdote about Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier (Hoffman made himself go sleepless for a few nights in order to "get into character" for Marathon Man; Olivier "took one look at him and said, 'Dear boy, it's called acting.'"

My exception: Leonardo diCaprio. Catch Me If You Can, and The Aviator ... IMO, he's proven himself a versatile and damned-fine actor.

Hoffman came down with a cold during filming of LITTLE BIG MAN. His voice was so raspy he hoped to use it in his old man scenes, but he healed too soon. Before shooting the old man scenes he screamed at the top of his lungs repeatedly to try and get the raspy voice again.
