Oh yes, Garbo was bad. In Ninotchka, she was playing a robotic bolshevik, so that was fine. Everything else — horrible.
But still, Olivier was in a class all his own. Played Heathcliff like he’d had a double lobotomy. Never to be surpassed or forgiven.

I liked Gere in Breathless, a quirky remake of the original with Jean Paul Belmondo. I also thought he was decent in American Gigolo.
