Jerry Sandusky will be found innocent
Letter to the Editor

I have to say I find the accusations against Jerry Sandusky very hard to believe. I have met and know Jerry through The Second Mile. Both of my daughters were a part of the Second Mile program, and it is a great program for kids. I would have never hesitated one minute to allow Jerry to be with my children.
He is being judged in the court of opinions. This man is innocent. I support Jerry 100 percent. I also ask that people please do not judge the Second Mile program. They are a great organization for at-risk children. The adults who run this program are the best counselors available. My children learned so many valuable things by participating in the programs offered.
Again, knowing Jerry Sandusky, I find it very hard to believe that he ever hurt any child that was in his company. Please stop judging him and let our justice system work. I think that when all is out and said and done Jerry will be found innocent of all of this.
DIANN BISHOP
MANCHESTER
Ahem. They're 'at-risk' once Jerry walks through the door.
Cult ties are hard to break.
Apparently DAUGHTERS would be safe- it seems little boys are his preference
York, PA - About 10 years ago, Diann Bishop’s marriage ended in divorce. Her daughters, then about 8 or 9 years old, took it hard. They were having some problems adjusting, and a school counselor referred Bishop to The Second Mile.
Her daughters went to one of the summer camps run by the charity founded by former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. Bishop can’t speak highly enough about the organization and how it helped her daughters, and she fears that the current scandal that has stemmed from Sandusky being indicted on child sexual abuse charges could harm a program that does so much good.
“I’ve seen first-hand what they can do,” Bishop, of Manchester, said Wednesday. “The people who work there, the counselors, are one in a million.”
While her daughters were in The Second Mile, Bishop met Sandusky. When the charges against the former coach made news last week — including the accusation that Sandusky’s alleged victims were boys in The Second Mile program — she said it floored her.

biting my tongue...
Unfortunately there were a lot of people who felt the same way Mrs. Bishop does. It’s the reason so many pedophiles get away with their perversions for so long.
Ohhh, boy. I knew this was gonna happen. Even the impeached rapist had his supporters.
something tells me sandusky will never make it to trial- there will be a bullet put through his head either by himself or someone else prior...
And yet Sandusky, if the stories about his buggery hold water, didn’t even go off privately by himself to indulge his fantasies alone in an attempt to keep any harm from children. How can such “goodness” and evil mix?
Give the woman a break, she's stating the facts as she sees them (although her purview is limited).
So with the little boys...was it “just” a rape or was it “rape-rape”?
Daughters may be safe from Sandusky, but what about the other adults that he has assembled for his program? How many of them are predators? I suspect that Jerry associates with some very questionable people, at best.
Any parent that is standing with Sandusky at this point is either deaf or willfully ignorant. People SAW him doodling little boys for pete's sake!
If she didn't know anything, she didn't know anything. Don't paint her as some sort of enabler.
Let’s see McQueary testified to the Grand Jury under oath let he saw Sandusky assaulting a young boy. But this genius just “knows” that Sandusky wouldn’t do any such thing.
I guess McQueary could have lied to the Grand Jury and the writer of this letter is 100% correct.
But I wouldn’t bet on it.
“Denial” isn’t just a river in Egypt; it flows through State College, PA., too.
Maybe, but she also had a very different impression of the guy.
Young girls were apparently safe with Jerry.
Lay off the Kool Aid, lady.
The Cult of Penn State... sickening.
Sounds like it was a front for NAMBLA activities.
It’s hard for some people to accept the truth
