Paterno was the CEO, of Penn State Football, Inc. The primary job of the CEO, protect the money train.
“Paterno was the CEO, of Penn State Football, Inc.”
More like the Godfather of Penn State, Inc.
There's more than money involved here in Paterno's case. Sandusky was Paterno's buddy. He had to be to stay on as his top assistant for 30+ years. It has to be very tough to "rat" on your buddy, and Paterno apparently did if he reported Sandusky to the recently departed Athletic Director (who is Paterno's boss) and to the recently departed university administator in charge of campus police. Those two were probably primarily interested in protecting the money train.
