Part of me wants to relish the schadenfreude.

Another part of me is outraged by the refusal of city administrators and police to enforce the law. There is a reason for regulations about overnight camping in urban parks, basic sanitation in handling food and waste, etc. It's to try to ensure public health and safety.

Those officials are being grossly negligent in their duties for cheap political gain.

The reason the City fathers and the police unions are walking the dogs on this situation is that, as Socialists, they want the OWS types to start the Revolution.

After all, the The Sheriff Of Nottingham's Men will protect the City administration from the riot.

All the small business owners will get burned out, but while they pay bribes to the city, they aren't a good source of political donations.
