My take is Paterno is being crucified without anybody knowing the facts over how much he knew. He took it to his higher authority and he only knew about one incident.
The media has been looking for a reason to get on Joe Pa he is being crucified without all the facts out and without him being able to explain what he knew

I knew the resignation ploy would not stand after reading the indictment. It was a transparent ploy to protect the football revenue stream but the trustees are obviously now aware of the bigger risks.
Penn State football will be better off with Paterno gone. He should have retired 10-12 years ago and let a fresh young coach take the helm.
But, no, he had to hang onto his power in Happy Valley until he became the Robert Byrd of football coaches, and the valley is now an unhappy place.
Just goes to show, going homo is never a good thing.
Sorry but it isn’t credible that Paterno was naive or uninformed. Penn State should be permanently banned from football. This is where social conservatives must either put up or shut up.
Necessary, but very sad all around. Nothing to celebrate in such a wreckage of ethical lapse.
