Forget the specifics of the Cain situation.
It’s absurd to argue that there was easy money in claiming sexual harrassment.
If there was, everybody would do it and get year-salary payments.
It was a good way to express the situation, but it is hyperbole. Not many women charged sexual harrassment, and many didn’t get any payments at all.
Some organizations might have found it easier just to pay off women instead of investigating, but that was not the norm, and it isn’t the norm.
And most women are not looking for a chance to lie about sexual harrassment to get a payoff. I’ve seen people claiming most women use sex charges to get ahead, or to get money, or to get what they want. I saw one poster who said we shouldn’t have given women the right to vote because they all use lying as a standard practice.
I know people are upset with 4 specific women here; but I don’t see how the conservative movement is advanced if we start blaming women in general, or act like every report of harassment, or even most, are just typical women trying to make an easy buck and getting away with it.
We risk much more than Herman Cain if we convince people that the tea party movement is misogynist or dismissive of women’s concerns. There should be a way to attack 4 specific people for their specific claims without smearing everybody of the same sex.
As I said, this rant has nothing to do with the specific charges against Cain, just something that has bothered me in the way some people here have been responding to those charges.
My sarcasm is aimed directly at this woman who thought she was going to get a pay day. She claimed sexual harrasement on her next job also. Please!....give me a break!...She is filing for bankruptcy a third time?
