It is possible because I’ve taken care of things like this for clients under special circumstance. However, you have to provide credit documentation and complete specific forms to do it. If Cain did this himself, he would have had to have provided copies of a credit card, ID, and a signature authorization to make it happen. If the records still exist, it could be easily verified.
I don’t believe someone in his position would ever do something like that or even know how to do it.
If this woman was fired for falsely accusing someone of sexual harrassment and Cain took her to dinner, he’s got lousy judgement.
I travel extensively with professional and amateur racing teams. I have never been able to get anything changed in my team supplied room outside of adding my CC information for anything additional than the group paid for the room.
Also, as we check in en-mass we are usually not aware of the room numbers of teammates. When I go to, or call, the front desk to ask for the room of a particular person, they will call from the front desk and hand me the phone or make the connection via switchboard telling me at both that they are not permitted to give me the room number.
If we want to change the rooms in any way, the logistics person must make the call and provide the card number to make any changes.
So from my experience, she is lying and they feel there is no way to cross verify this.
With that said, seeing she has declared bankruptcy two times and recently had an asset seizure ruling set against her, her debtors information is a matter of public record and a very good investigator can track that information down. The only thing missing is the date which all of this was alleged to have happened.
So many things like rental cars, airline tickets (which they have to keep the information because of security practices) the landscape is rich with resources but it won’t be accomplished tomorrow or anytime reasonably soon enough to matter to the primaries.
