Following I wrote to another thread on the matter last night, and I think this is more support for my theory:

“Here’s how I see it. The organization behind OWS has spread out across the country, and in some cases over the great pond. I believe their goal is to create the appearance of a majority to persuade the World to succumb to their will.

In the vast majority of the locations according to most of what I read small groups of people under the guise of OWS whatever are creating scenes for the purpose of getting noticed by the media for their outrageousness. They are making it seem this is a much bigger movement than it really is.

I don’t believe we can find any major movement involved here, but more of an attempt to make it seem that it is.

To put it bluntly I think we are being BS’d.”

Yep. It's the same with every left wing organization. It's an Alinski thing. Spread out and make a lot of noise. It'll appear as though there are a lot more of them.

They do this at town meetings all the time. There may only be 3 or 4 of them, but if they spread out around the room and make a lot of noise, people there feel as though they're surrounded by many.

In NYC, there's under 100. The rest are media folks hoping to catch a beating or murder, the police, piles of garbage, and a few bystanders there to witness the train wreck.

The OWS movement is actually very tiny. If it weren't for the noise being recorded by the media, they'd all be back at home with mom by now. No one would have noticed them.
