Thanks for writing. Lots of good interesting points to be sure, except for the idea that Satan is passively involved in the affairs of men. The apostle Paul calls him the prince of the power of the air and the god of this world(Eph 2:2; 2 Cor 4:4). It is not either/or but both/and.

I am one who gives credit where credit is due. Mankind has long proven itself a reservoir of the deepest villainy, as well as some small flicker of righteousness. To attribute this darkness to Satan or other demons can be self-deceptive, as it is an open question how horrible man can be on his own, without help. Are we indeed so vile that demons are redundant?

So consider that Satan and his subjects might just be the “icing on the cake”. To paraphrase the commercial: “They don’t make man evil, they only inspire greater evil.”
