A wave of meritless sexual harassment cases was emerging with Anita Hill's headlines. Cain warned of this and took action within the National Restaurant Assn to implement policies & procedures. The size of these settlements involving Cain indicates they, too, were meritless. Insurance companies and lawyers settle meritless claims for such amounts all the time to avoid costly lawsuits.

I’m no longer interested in anything Politico has to say on this or any other subject at all, in any way, shape, or form.

The mental disorder, known as liberalism, is on full display at Politico as they desperately fling anything and everything in their attempt to destroy Cain.

1994: One of our female employees 30 feet away from a manager’s office was listening in on a conversation with his WIFE when they were discussing getting away from the kids for a weekend and what kind of nightgown she should buy.

Next thing I know she is claiming harassment by the poor guy because she was “offended” with overhearing the conversation.

How do I know what they were talking about? His wife came to his defense and even sat in on the attorneys meeting about how to make her complaint “go away” - money.

They had this loaded in the computer ready to print. Cain was going to fold then they were going to show, no prove, what a hypocrite he is.

I wish I could remember what I was watching last night (something I have never seen before, maybe “RT news??”). The anchor reporter had two guests on the show. One of them said Politico is the equivalent in Washington of the National Enquirer. His facial and body expressions, mannerisms, and vocal tone were totally dismissive of ANYTHING Politico had to say. The other guy was a Journalism Professor, and he stated (in so many words) that it’s all about ratings, staying in the limelight for the newspaper or TV show, and that it’s a business, and the business isn’t about journalism, but about driving viewers to their sponsors. He said it was about catering to specific demographics in an effort to make sponsors (advertisers) happy, to generate more ad revenue, etc.

the NRA embarked on an effort to educate both its staffers and members on the issue, which included moves to implement sexual harassment policies and training.

With Cain at the helm as CEO in 1998, the association created a video to explain sexual harassment laws to its members – and created a sample sexual harassment policy for individual restaurants to use, according to a Chicago Tribune story at the time.

LMFAO!!! Now they're suggesting Cain was out front with sexual harassment policy implementation and training. Something has Politico *REALLY* spooked, and it ain't Holloween!

Maybe Bennett showed them the copy of that severance agreement he finally got hold of, and realized that "you're the same height as my wife" just doesn't rise to the salaciousness of "Kiss it, baby"!

I was just thinking about this situation and it seems a little strange that first it was said that the woman would like to speak but has a confidentiality agreement. Then the nra said they will waive it. Then her attorney decides to let everyone know that she is not willing to relive this horrible incident and will not comment. Having presided over my children and their bickering, it is becoming more and more clear that the agreement was not protecting Cain, the agreement was probably protecting the accuser. If she did lie, she may have threatened to draw this thing out as long as possible costing the company millions. That would probaly be a better reason not to talk, don’t you think?

I don’t know why anyone is still going on about this story. Chris mathews of MSNVC has already pronounced Cain guilty of something. So that’s all that needs be said. BTW, you can review Chris’ new book, “Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero” on Amazon.com. Remember to give Mathews the same just consideration he does to anyone on the right, especially Cain. Have fun now.

This is sounding more and more like the Clarence Thomas case. Justice Thomas wrote the law defining sexual harassment. It’s called the Meritor case. He did this while head of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The case was a landmark case, as it extended gender equality to the workplace, not merely to hiring and firing. Ironically or maybe deliberately, the other side went after him on this matter.

Those settlements actually sound about like someone was granted about a years severance pay and changed jobs without pursuing things further. That sounds a lot like these people being confronted with the fact that they couldn't win but to avoid PR they could leave their job with severance and keep their mouth shut lest their own behavior and activities be made public.

People who win such suits don't just leave the job with severance pay, the want damages aplenty. These were bogus claims to begin with, probably brought when an "activist" (i.e. extortionist) talked these people into bringing them because Cain saw what was coming and said so.
