He is like a yo-yo on that issue. I went to a book signing once and a lefty in the crowd brought up the AGW issue. He said that instead if taking a counter position to argue the point that the right should instead engage in the debate by accepting the premise as a starting point. My jaw damned near hit the floor. It was only a week or two later that I remember in which he and Nanzi were in commercials sitting on that couch.
Newt may be a great historian but he is horrible on science & technology. There is a lot here but this link takes you to Burt Rutan's presentation on AGW at Oshkosh along with followups posted in pdf and powerpoint. The powerpoint has all of his presentation notes as well. This blows away AGW claims and I am very surprised that Newt does not reference it as he likes to do on other issues when he speaks of technical stuff.
If you don't know who Burt Rutan is, he is the designer and builder of the X-Prize winning Space Ship One. He is also the designer and builder of the commercial project funded by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic fame.
