Jack the Cat's Facebook page reports that:
"Jack's condition has been upgraded... He is no longer critical!!!! He is now considered *serious*!!!! This is awesome!!! Woot woot!!!!!!"
"1. We are so very very grateful for all your cards and catnip!! Blue Pearl said they are reading the cards to Jack one at a time when he is awake and the doctors aren't doing stuff to him. What I would give to have that on video!! How sweet of all of you... and how sweet of Blue Pearl!!!"
"2. Yes, American Airlines is paying all Jack's vet bills (which are going to be subs...tantial)."

Another update on Jack the Cat. He has been upgraded from critical to serious. Pretty good for a kitty that had a 50 - 50 chance.

Thank you for posting, Algernonpj! I am pulling for this little kitty... after everything he has been through... I wish him the best. Sounds like he is in really good hands.

On Oct 25, Jack dropped down from the ceiling right near American staff members who were in the customs room. Cats get in to the darnedest places.
How do you suppose he got there?
Probably scare those AA employees.

I bet Jack was trying to get out of the country before Obama completely destroys it.

Anyone know if handsome Jack is a Persian or how old he is?

That is one *gorgeous* cat. He looks a lot like our Fluffy (Fluffy is blonde, though, not orange). Every time I take a photo, he closes his eyes. How do they do that?

OMG, I hope that poor Jack makes it completely back to health. He looks absolutely miserable in the "after" picture, poor baby. That asinine airline should only thank G-d that it's not MY cat they lost. They would never recover from my wrath.
I have a show-quality Maine Coon, glorious in beauty and a true Velcro-cat. Her natural habitat is my lap, oooof. Coons can reach a bit over 20 lbs. for males, and a really big girl might go 14 lbs. My Bijou is a solid 10 lbs. Norwegian Forest Cats ("Wegies") are a close relative of Coons, but their lines are rounder, their back legs are a bit longer than the front legs, and they have a sweeter face. Coons generally have a more feral face with a squarer muzzle and a dip between their forehead and nose, are longer, their ears are set higher on their head and they are more rectangular.
