Yesterday I had a good grip on the news related to Herman Cain. Now I'm lost.

This morning I heard an interview with Chris Wilson (this guy?). Someone is saying he works for Perry (where is this info to be found?).

Regardless, he says the issue is super bad and lots of folks saw him do it but aren't speaking for legal reasons. I suppose that *could* be the case if they saw it while they were functioning as consultants of the NRA or signed confidentiality agreements with the NRA for *this* issue. Unlikely, but possible.

Questions:

1. Does this guy work for Perry, Romney, Rahm, McDonalds . . .?

2. Does this guy have a politically partisan past? (I can't find it if he does).

3. ISTM that all of the accusers are discussing one incident, including this new 3rd accuser, who will not step forward and hasn't signed a confidentiality agreement. Am I missing something here?

4. Why is the Cain campaign swinging at anything that moves as the source of the info? ISTM that this Chris Wilson guy is the one who initiated the whole business.

I should have added that in the interview, the Chris Wilson guy says *he* saw and heard it.

He also says that “at least three other people” were with him at the time. He could go a long way toward cleaning up this mess by telling us who the at least three other people are so that than can corroborate his assertion. If he’s telling the truth, I would think he would want the corroboration.

And, has Chris signed an agreement keeping him from sharing what he saw? If not, he’d better speak up or look like a tool of Perry.

You can’t just say, “I, and several people saw him do something that, if you saw it, you’d think it was really bad, but I can’t say what it is.”

That is just stupid.

Why is Cain swinging at everything? Maybe he remembers how Clarence Thomas barely survived an attack like this with only the Senate to deal with (and those guys were pols who understand this stuff is a game) and saw how relentless the liberal media was with Sarah Palin, who they suceeded in running off the ballot.

Are you really going to fall for the premise that "it must be true if he's fighting it"? How did not fighting the smears work out for GWB?

This uncovers a problem in the Cain camp. They lack the experience to handle this nightmare in the best professional way. All I know is that Cain is the subject of a hideous witch hunt and he needs to stop that crap right now so he can get back on message. He is a good man who a lot of folks for various reasons would like to destroy. This is also an example of exactly what’s wrong with American politics! Sheeesh already.

Once again, name, rank, serial number and just the absolute facts that substantiate the accusations beyond any doubt. Otherwise, keep your pie hole shut!!!

Until someone has the guts to stand up and say what happened, I’m remaining agnostic on the issue and want to hear about policy.

I’m just having a difficult time determining what Chris Wilson will get out of the deal. I can’t imagine it would help his business.

To Answer some of your Questions:
Chris Wilson company does polling for Perry.
One of his offices is in Austin, Tex.
Chris Wilson has publically supported Perry.
Chris Wilson has worked directly with Karl Rove in the past.

No connect the dots.

“This uncovers a problem in the Cain camp.”

I don’t think it is a problem, I don’t want my candidate to be known as Slick Herman. There is no good way to deal with ignorance and hate.

Well it is pretty clear he didn’t do anything very major to anyone with all these folks standing around observing otherwise they would be accomplices. So did he tell an off-color joke? Maybe.

I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you. Sheesh.

I'm calling B.S. on Wilson. What did Cain do, grab his crotch? I mean even if he made an off-color joke about someone's boobs during a cocktail party, who cares? Can you imagine what prior Presidents from Jackson to TR to Truman to JFK to Clinton said or did to women before they served in office? It is time for a backlash against the very concept of sexual harassment. This article goes a long way, but we need more. Conservative women must lead the way.

Why wash’t it sexual harassment when Elizabeth Warren ridiculed Scott Brown for his career choice of posing semi-nude for Cosmo? It would have been had the roles been reversed. Enough. If women want to be equal that stop the nonsense about being the “fairer sex”. You can have chivalry and women’s lib at the same time. Grow up, end sexual harassment rules now. Race stuff too.

I think that Chris Wilson's account could be connected to this:
“Four people with contemporaneous knowledge of the encounter said it had taken place in the context of a work outing during which there had been heavy drinking — a hallmark, they said, of outings with an organization that represents the hospitality industry. They spoke on condition of anonymity to avoid being publicly drawn into the dispute, and declined to provide details of the encounter, saying they did not want to violate the privacy of the woman.”

Cain has botched his handling of the situation. He has claimed racism—yeah right. He blames others for breaking the story—like it wasn’t coming out ever. Why didn’t he disclose his version before it broke. Its a big mess and Cain is looking incompetent as a manager. He may be finished when the underlying details come out.

It is possible it could be both - Anderson and Wilson. Both had ties to Cain (Anderson worked on Cain’s Senate race in GA), both connected with Perry now. I’m sure we’ll know the truth soon.

Cain would have looked so much better if he had just handled this like probably any of us here in FR would have, which is mention it up front, at the beginning of the campaign.

How in the WORLD could he imagine this would stay a secret?

I like Cain. I want Cain to be president. But your post has a large element of truth to it and it worries me and has me thinking that we're going to get down to Newt. Which is definitely close to the bottom of the barrel.

Perry is finished.

Bachmann's not coming back.

Santorum is not going to take off.

Paul is a potted plant fixture with a set amount of vote-strength.

Huntsman is a joke.

Romney is the enemy.

If Cain crashes (and the odds of that happening are good, I'm afraid), who does that leave?

That leaves Newt.

I think Cain is handling it just fine, with honesty.

He is not finished.

To everyone else - please spread the word:

This is the new anti-Cain meme coming from ? because I am seeing it on other political forums, Facebook and Twitters. The attempt at a “scandal” is failing and now the meme has become “he is incompetent”

Watch all the interviews yourself, form your own opinion.
