Why not just take the change and move on?
IF this type of transaction goes on regularly, then let the stores devise a fast method for faster checkout.

Since we are doing advance math on this thread I would say that in all probability you are correct.
My wife tells me people pay with change all the time at her store. Usually only about 4 or 5 bucks worth. People buying more have EBT cards and don’t need to worry about using change, says she.
