The patent claims an application of "a method and apparatus for carrying out nickel and hydrogen exothermal reactions."

Nickel metal has been used as a hydrogenation catalyst for decades (NiMH batteries, etc).

This is crank territory.

Yes, the patent application is a mess, and Rossi having a shill customer tote his hunk of garbage away doesn't make it any more credible.
