Okay, this is a horrible story, but I am intrigued about this:

“Police said the teen’s mother called them Thursday about noon to say her daughter was missing and that her photograph had been posted on a website advertising adult party entertainment.”

How did the Mom find this website? Somebody that she knows must have been surfing it to notice the girl’s picture... that had to be an awkward phone call.

This mother could have had previous experience with her teen knowing that her picture would be posted on the website at some point.
Trying to help a kid bent on destruction is sometimes very difficult.

This sentence adds to the confusion.

"Court documents show the mother told police she and a friend had used the website to negotiate a deal for the friend to pay for sex with the teen."

The miplaced prounoun "she" caused me to read that the mother and a friend used the website...
