We got helium in Tom’s giant inflatable shark this afternoon, but before he got it in the front door, it slipped from the string and floated away. Someone at some distance will get a surprise, when the pressure equalizes.
A replacement apparently exists, but it’s out of stock everywhere, including the manufacturer :-(. At least no pets have died recently ...
I wrote a poem about that.
Does that surprise you?
Holding On
The separation of a soul, like a childs lost balloon,
Ill fly up after it someday, lets meet up on the moon.
Get it, Daddy! Grab it, quick! Before it gets away!
Im sorry, Darling. Its just gone. Is all that I can say.
But you can see its rising up! Its only gone from you.
Youll surely get it back one day, heres what youll have to do.
Its going to be in Gods hands now. Hell keep it just like new.
You just remember it real good. Hell give it back to you.
And in the meantime, do your best, to stay on His Good side.
So when youre ready for your trip, Hell let you take a ride.
She smiled and she accepted this, that it would be okay,
And one day she would have again, the thing she lost that day.
I wish I could believe it too, but somehow I have doubt,
Ive heard the explanations too. Theres something they leave out.
Oh, I believe the one I miss is in her Heavenly bower,
But Im not sure Ill get that far, on my appointed hour.
