We got helium in Tom’s giant inflatable shark this afternoon, but before he got it in the front door, it slipped from the string and floated away. Someone at some distance will get a surprise, when the pressure equalizes.
A replacement apparently exists, but it’s out of stock everywhere, including the manufacturer :-(. At least no pets have died recently ...

Holding On
The separation of a soul, like a child’s lost balloon,
I’ll fly up after it someday, let’s meet up on the moon.
“Get it, Daddy! Grab it, quick! Before it gets away!”
“I’m sorry, Darling. It’s just gone.” Is all that I can say.
“But you can see it’s rising up! It’s only gone from you.”
“You’ll surely get it back one day, here’s what you’ll have to do.”
“It’s going to be in God’s hands now. He’ll keep it just like new.”
“You just remember it real good. He’ll give it back to you.”
“And in the meantime, do your best, to stay on His Good side.”
“So when you’re ready for your trip, He’ll let you take a ride.”
She smiled and she accepted this, that it would be okay,
And one day she would have again, the thing she lost that day.
I wish I could believe it too, but somehow I have doubt,
I’ve heard the explanations too. There’s something they leave out.
Oh, I believe the one I miss is in her Heavenly bower,
But I’m not sure I’ll get that far, on my appointed hour.
