One of the last things I remember about Boot Camp at Great Lakes was marching too that song after graduation. That was in December 1976.
Cool tune. We loved singing it at end of Braves games when we were racking up playoff wins to go to the world series in the 90’s. It is kinda magic when you have the whole stadium up singing this at the end of the 9th inning. Just for old times sake “Sid! Sid! Sid! Sid!...”.(It was also great to be chanting when Sid Bream was up to bat for him to hit a homerun.) Tomahawk Choppin all the way.
Remember back then ... all the lip singing. They’re doing it wrong.
But RIP.
I bought Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye), and Green Tambourine. I really did like those songs and sang along with them. I played them over and over. Thank you Mr.Leka.
I wish that song would die. So sick of hearing it at darn near every sporting event from high school to pro.
