Rubio is a Bush guy who is dreadful on immigration.
He has zero executive experience or experience outside of a political career, and he is less than two years removed from serving at the state legislature level.
And he looks like he’s in his 20’s. What most excites people about Rubio is that he’s Hispanic—and identity politics is not supposed to be what drives our party.
No, he wouldn’t win.
If I’m not mistaken, the window of opportunity for Mr. Rubio is about until next weekend.
He’s got an opening right now.
This FReeper encourages him to consider doing so. He would shake up the field in a good way, and certainly by doing so position himself among the strongest contenders as a running mate for any other candidate, if he does not win outright.
The election is still over a year away. A lot can happen in a year.
IMHO,The guy is charismatic as hell and still has an open mind on many issues. He will be President one day. Current thinking for his future is Senator— Governor of Fla.— potus.
Rubio would win. In a landslide. He is a former speaker of the house here in Florida. He is highly articulate and the single best communicator of the conservative movement since Reagan. He is wise to stick to his new job and not get in the fray in 2012, but if he did he would walk away with it.
