IMHO Rubio could generate the sort of enthusiasm Guv Palin did.
There's no reason Rubio couldn't declare right now, and enter the race.
I think he should. I think he'd win.
There are some who believe Rubio is not qualified by birth as eligible.
Regardless, I would let Rubio have a few terms first before promoting him to national politics. We have plenty of choices for VP.
Rubio has always been my first choice. I wish he would run.
I’ll show you my birth certificate and you show me yours!Next we will hear he has no experience ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
To show you just how popular Rubio is both the Miami Herald and the WaPost are going after him right now here:
This of course is all BS perpetuated by the DBM in hopes of getting some traction against one of our top two conservative leaders, Palin being the other.
While Castro took over in 56 he was raising hell in Cuba as early as 53. Those who got out early were just a little bit smarter or ahead of their time.
To demagogue those who left Cuba before 56 shows a level of desperation unseen in the DBM until now.
I had the pleasure of meeting Rubio about a month ago. IMHO he’s the reel deal and will one day be potus without a doubt.
How many death threats would you endure before you would think twice about running a campaign that's probably a bit before your time anyway?
How many Republicans will Sarah have to help get elected this time around to get back in your good graces!! My what high standard you have.
I have really tried to become enthusiastic about any of our candidates and come up short, though I will definitely vote for whomever is the eventual nominee.
That said, Rubio joining the fray would absolutely get me excited.
For the record, and not because I care to argue with those who feel just as firmly opposed to this; I think he IS a NBC, so there is no hesitation from me on that front.
Please.
I was an early and enthusiastic Palin supporter. I can be won back, but for the moment I am deeply disappointed in Palin.
She did not reload. She retreated. And cost the GOP, and particularly the tea party movement, an historic level of grass roots momentum, unlike we’ve seen in at least a generation.
Palin disappointed a huge number of people. This poster among them. I believe she has by doing so, in fact damaged the GOP’s chances in 2012. Which is part of the reason I would like to see Rubio shake up the field.
Marco Rubio could bring some of that enthusiasm back to the GOP race, simply with an announcement.
He should make that announcement. Then a whole bunch of people will spontaneously appear to help him work out the details and the funding.
I’ll contribute the money I had intended to send to Palin. Likely I am not alone.
Rubio could re-invigorate the 2012 race. And he could win big.
“Want to slime him. Almost like they were about Palin...”
Your observation is correct. They want to get any true conservative in their sights right now so they can use the more than a year we still have before the election to attack and destroy their credibility. Palin, Rubio, Demint -whoever can speak well and has the personal qualities to win - and has not stepped directly into the line of fire - the media is opening up on them anyway.
Castro took over in 1959, not 1956. From 1954-1955 he was in prison. From 1955-1957 he was in Mexico.
Rubio has said he won’t run. I believe him because unlike Christie, Rubio has shown himself to have integrity.
So let’s draft him.
He’s a politician. Any politician responds well, to enough support.
His parents were born in Cuba and left when Castro took over. Rubio was born in the US about 10 yrs later. They say he’s not eligible because his parents weren’t born in the US.
IMO Rubio is more of an American than most of the other candidates, of either party. He loves America as someone who knows what makes America great.
He would be far better than Romney or Perry, but he is short on experience.
Their unprecedented, hate-filled attacks on Palin proved they will receive no fallout from those who matter to them when they attack a woman or a minority. They've always known they can unload on a white man, and now they know their lib cred will remain even when they go nuclear on someone in a way which, if a conservative did it, would result in the attacker being branded a bigot.
There are no restraints on them now, if there ever were. They know they can attack a woman and The View gals will not only not criticize the attacks, they'll be leading them. They can attack Cain and not suffer one word from Sharpton and company--they'll help, actually. Now, they've gone into Palin-level bizarreness with this "when did your parents really leave Cuba, sir???" thing, and this sounding is giving them pointers for how to attack a Cuban-American.
It'd be sad if it weren't so expected.
On the other hand he is all over our debt and gave an excellent speech on not only budget debt but overall debt which he fears will sink our ship and soon if not addressed.
I note you failed to address any of the numerous death threats that Palin has had to endure. You also failed to acknowledge that she will once again fire up thousands of supporters of both House and Senate pubbies all over the country and help get them elected like no one else can.
The fact that you or I did not get "our way" should not stand in the path of what she can and will do for the party.
I had seen something about the first filing deadlines being the middle of October. He *may* have until the end of October , November 1st at the absolute latest.
Sorry bout that I should have checked.
