Forgetting the captions, just watch the film: First, notice this ‘hated dictator’ didn't need to have streets closed off for his safety, didn't need a convoy of armed vehicles and guards, etc - perfectly safe riding through the streets, (looks like prosperous city, people, cars, etc) waving from the sunroof, with no protection.
That back ups what has been written about what Ghadaffi had done in LIbya.
He gave women equality, he was a deadly enemy of al Queada, he reamed out the Saudi Princes and the Palestinians, He had lots of oil and lots of gold and was making his country prosperous...and kept the Jihardists and Muslim Brotherhood at bay.
He had to go - and the spoils will be split up - and the country and it's people will be plunged back into the dark ages.

I am puzzled over that that...
Were the people too fearful? Was it propaganda and there were plain clothes guards amongst the people? I don’t know. Crazy times and finding the truth seems difficult at best.
