You keep saying "if", which means you don't know. You have all kinds of opinions about a book you're completely clueless about.
Here's the deal. You may despise him as a presidential candidate. Fine. But to assume that he has nothing useful to say about anything in national politics -- that's folly beyond belief. It would probably horrify you to discover that you and Perry actually agree on a lot of things, so you refuse to look to see if it's true. It really undermines the credibility of one's arguments when he argues -- however passionately -- from a position of ignorance.
