Yes and No. He finally displayed a little of what Perry fans have been clamoring for since he entered the debates.

The problem is, Perry is taking a page out of the 2008 Republican primaries and trying to beat Romney up over an issue that Republican candidates were beating him up over in 2007-2008. It obviously didn't work in 2007-2008 since Romney is now the frontrunner. It's also very weak in light of the fact that there are a lot bigger things that Perry could have beat him up over.

Perry did get lucky - had Romney shown any competence and knowledge of Perry's background, Romney would have brought up the fact that Perry's biggest donor is a home builder who supports sanctuary cities. Thankfully for Perry, Romney is not that competent.
