OVI: Operating a Vehicle under the Influence, I think. Good that Cunningham bailed him out...an embarrassing situation I’d say, for Michaels

>>MIDDLETOWN (OH)— An area media executive was arrested for OVI Friday morning after Middletown police officers spotted his car stuck in water and mud in a construction zone.
Randy Michaels, 59, of Lawyer’s Point, Cincinnati, was booked into the Middletown City Jail under his real name, Benjamin Homel, shortly after 2 a.m., according to police officials.

>>According to Maj. Mark Hoffman, Michaels was bonded out of jail at 5:22 a.m. by 700WLW talk radio host Bill Cunningham.
Michaels, CEO of Merlin Media and former head of the Tribune Company, was taken into custody at the intersection of Ohio 122 and Interstate 75.
Middletown officers found Michaels in his car between construction cones facing west underneath the overpass on Ohio 122. The vehicle was sitting in water up to the frame, according to the report.

>>The officer said he detected an “odor of intoxicants about his person” when speaking with Michaels. He was given three field sobriety tests then taken to jail. After contacting an attorney for advice, Michaels refused to take a Breathalyzer test, according to police.
Michaels, who also was charged with driving on a closed street, is scheduled to appear Oct. 21 in Middletown Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing.
