What unit is he in?
I just returned from Ranger School and wondered if your son ever made it there? It sucked, by the way. Haha!
That’s why they call Ranger school “The Suck.” Now that you’ve graduated, drop by ArmyRanger.com and introduce yourself there.
Many years ago, several classmates in my ROTC commissioning class (20-22), were exhorting me to go Ranger. The farthest I got was Airborne, and that was enough for me.
As a Clint Eastwood character (Dirty Harry?) stated, "you have to know your limitations." I was never a runner, though I could LRP all day long. The thought of averaging 1-2 hours of sleep (if that) for extended periods also intimidated me.
Absolutely no second thoughts have arisen from that decision.
Best wishes to all!
Unfortunately, they were so undermanned in Astan, he could not leave. In fact he was running missions up until the chopper took him out to KAF. He just returned 2 weeks ago. He comes home on block leave next month and then will be heading to WLC. The opportunity is there for him but I don’t know what he will do, right now he is very bitter about some things that went on in Astan and he is having second thoughts about his career in the military. It was quite an eventful deployment and we’ll just have to see how it all plays out.
Thanks for asking and congratulations to you!
