When a vehicle eclipses the flesh-and-bone actors and becomes the superstar of a filmthat's when it's a great movie car. There are dozens of memorable cars in film, but to crack the top 10, a vehicle must influence a generation, inspire car culture, and become the stuff of every kid's dreams. These are our favorites, in no particular order...

Hey, I didn’t make it up, it’s been noted in many hot car related publications. That black Charger was a race car that had to be turned into a daily driver to stay within shouting distance ahead of the ‘Stang. Ford boys always hate to hear about this :) Especially since the Stang was already modified to be faster than stock!
It was originally intended to be an industrial motor but Ford decided to put it in trucks.
And I had an emissions waiver for mine because it didn't pass the sniff test since it was new
The “California Kid” was a chopped ‘34 3-window.
My truck had the 4 speed w/ granny gear low and manual hubs. It was a perfect truck for looking after our three pit surface mine.
The first set of tires lasted 6 months. I moved up to a set of eight ply cop tires and they were a huge improvement.
Eat Me!
Yep... also very cool; George had some talented people working for him. IIRC,"DRAG-U-LA" could theoretically get out of its own way powerwise, which was icing on the cake.

The car fit my 6-1 220 lb (not fat) frame like a glove--actually a little tight. We couldn't get the car started, unfortunately, so I did not get to go for a drive.
Even when the doors worked, they were not for the impatient. They took eight seconds to close automatically.
Last year the family drove route 66 from the Art Museum in Chicago to the Pier at Santa Monica.
Get your kicks,
on route 66.
My all time favorite comedy.
TWO DOLLARS!
It had an emergency cable release under the front end.
Did they all? There was one locally that had a patched hood
where the owner had cut a hole to get to the latch.
‘Couple of years ago there was an article on this site about
some form of alternate fuel. There was a picture of a Ford
300-6 with a caption that stated that the engine had run for
50 hours on the fuel with no problems. Several of us
commented that this was a biased test as you could run that
motor on battery acid and nitroglycerin with a crankcase
full on sand and get 50 hours!
I think you are correct about the Nash connection, never
heard about the Rolls deal. I have a friend who knows AMC
and Jeep inside out, I'll have to ask him.
There was a modification for the 1975 models, I believe.
Loved that car. I was a big MOPAR fan back in the day. I remember working in a gas station back in the early 80s when this old lady came in with a cherry Dodge Dart. When I popped the hood, it had a 360 with a sixpack. I almost had a stroke.
Oh what memories that conjures up Y. I owned a red 68 Dodge Dart GTS with a factory 383 Magnum package. (Only about 2100 made) Black leather interior, Hurst 4 on the floor, 391 rear end and “that” sound..... I feel like crying sometimes - I sold it in 2005. ARGH!!!
