People who were interested in you because they thought you were gonna run for President. You did nothing to discourage that notion. In fact, quite the opposite.
You intentionally fed the flames with phrases like “Fire in the belly” “Fight like a girl” “Mama Grizzly” etc.
You could not possibly be so dumb that you didn’t know you were teasing people and wasting their time, money and energy.
People sent money to SarahPAC, bought your DVDs, promoted you, spent untold amount of time and energy on you that, as it turns out, was time WASTED.
That time, money and energy could have been spent promoting another conservative candidate.
There is no telling how far another conservative candidate be today, or even if another would have arisen if you weren’t hogging the limelight (like when you went to Iowa), and sucking oxygen out of the room.
You waited until there was NO TIME LEFT, and then your hand was forced. Now the ride is coming to an end, no more reality shows, sea of adoring worshippers, etc.
Now you act all chipper and happy, like no one should be disappointed.
Because now you are not “shackled” and actually (according to some twisted reality) think you have MORE influence than if you had with that shackling “title” of LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD.

No one forced anyone to buy Palin’s books, her biopic DVD, contribute to her campaign or even support her as she never said she was running for POTUS
She always said she was undecided.
As I said earlier, after her bus tour and her biopic didn’t bump up her ratings, she realized that she didn’t have a chance to win her party’s nomination, thus decided not to run.
I’m sure she struggled with the decision, but she doesn’t owe anyone one of us anything.
She is putting her family ahead of her political aspirations, which is far more admirable than someone like Bill Clinton, who put the Country thru an 18 month circus while AQ planned 9-11 and was AWOL from his job as he was in court or on TV, slamming his fist on the podium and pointing his finger at us and lecturing and lying to us in a “how dare you” tone of voice for accusing him of what turned out to be true.
I bought Palin’s first book not because I thought she was going to run for POTUS, I bought it because she is a fascinating person and there were many late nights when I couldn’t put the book down and stayed up way too late on work nights.
Palin’s responsibility is for her child, her children, her family and herself.
Perhaps 3 years of being under the media microscope and the non-stop, 3 year media attack took a toll on her and she decided that she didn’t need to put herself and her family thru even worse, as the lies and smears by the left and the MSM for the past 3 years would look like compliments in comparison.
The MSM set out to destroy her. What they did to her was criminal.
Even a month after her acceptance speech, the MSM had already turned perception into reality, as evidenced by this article from Sept 2008, along with the readers comments.

After Palin gave her acceptance speech, I predicted on this forum that the MSM would attack her worse than they did GWB, and I was right.

They would use lies and smears and anything they could in order to make her look worse than Obama, in order to make Obama look like a reasonable alternative to Palin if she ran in 2012
Like I said, what they have done to her on a near-daily basis for the past 3 years would look like compliments in comparison to what they would do to her if she were the GOP nominee running against Obama.

No. Frankly, it is because of what she had to say, because she held the administration's feet to the fire, she has remained outspoken, and hopefully, will continue to be.
I had hoped she would run, but I trust her judgement, and honestly think upon reconsideration that she can do more good helping to get the sort of people elected who will turn back the Obamite policies, regulations, rein in the overgovernment and overspending. We can't do it with just someone in the white house.
We need a clear majority of people in COngress with enough spine to hold the line, and we are not there yet.
We have a conservative running against Mitt in Cain. Another would split the vote and Romney would get the nod, to the acclaim of the RINO herd and the Dems (who can beat him) alike.
Have a little faith that she is doing the right thing, after all you believe she is capable of being the most powerful person in the Free World.
