Thanks Slings and Arrows.
There was a time when having sex with a woman meant a wedding ring, a court ship or at the very least, dinner... Other things that are said to have contributed to these changes include gender equality, birth control and internet porn.
...and ridiculous sex discrimination in child support / visitation / custody, community property bullsh!t, divorce, constant drumbeat of hatred for (especially white) men throughout daytime TV and public schools, classic hysteria for Bill Clinton's underwear and Zero's ass formerly known from old footage of Beatlemania...

I think you're closer to the real reason. More men have lost interest in the idea of marriage or even long-term relationships, creating more competition among women for the men who might still be interested.
In a more competitive environment, if one girl doesn't deliver, it's easy enough to move on to the next.

I would also add that you have a higher degree of more women chasing the same group of men. Women want a man who makes more than them, is taller, handsome, and witty. That subgroup will have a lot of women chasing them, and will get most of the action.
Then the women get disappointed because the sought-after man has more incentive to move on to the next woman than to commit to the current one.
