Actually it feels to me like the atmosphere is more racist now than it was in the fifties. There’s less actual discrimination now, but more heat and anger.
Race relations are getting worse, but I’m not sure I would want to go back to the 50’s, either.
I think the races would get along harmoniously if not for the government intentionally creating divisions.
