“Well, you must be right. Most pols finish their terms.
You WILL find a way to denigrate her, no matter what she does or doesnt do
Tell me how its denigrating her to say, as I did, that she polled throughout the year and made her (correct) decision based on what the polls said. Sounds pretty complimentary to me-namely that she can read a poll, unlike Ron Paul or Jon Huntsman or, at this point, Michelle Bachmann.”
That’s a lot clearer than what you said. I find no fault in that statement. But I still don’t think she goes by polls. She said so herself.
She went by the impossibility of her running (third party disaster) and the prospect of the Establishment destroying her family. Those are the things that she considers, not opinion polls.
At some point, every pol has to assess whether there is a demand for his or her service. Everyone makes that calculation-—it would be foolish to spend millions of dollars in a campaign that no one wants (again, as Huntsman is doing). We’ll know soon enough if she was polling during that period. I’m sure her family played a role, and I think that she really did not want to put in full time in government with all the harassment that brings.
