“The Undefeated”......Defeated.

“The Undefeated”......Defeated.

Ok, ok.......NOW she’s a quitter.

Back when Govenor Palin resigned as Alaska’s “Grizzly in Chief” after a judicial assult compiled of several lawsuits against her, Palin fans were relieved, because she did not need to be put needlessly through the media and judicial ringer any more, because she was needed later for a larger calling; to defeat Obama in the election of 2012.

Resignation was not seen as “quitting”, it was a strategic, maneuver, a rope-a-dope, around the anti-Palin crowd....she wasn’t quitting, she was “outflanking”.

Well, Palin did indeed have a clear message last night when she announced she would not run in the 2012 Election. That message was typical no-nonsense Palin, even though she said it with different words.

“Hey Media........you win.”

“Palinista’s” like me are very disappointed, and frankly are very worried about the future of this country. Yes, we believed she was running, we believed she “decided” to run the day she resigned as Governor. We believed her movie “The Undefeated”, (now destined for the $1.99 bargin basket as WalMart), was an introduction and explanation of the candidate for the campaign, a campaign that was going to be a very clear, and I mean VERY clear choice of Liberal vs. Conservative, Pro vs. Anti Government, Good vs. Evil.

Yes, I said evil. Many of us believed Sarah was called by someone MUCH higher than McCain into the political world, and it was God’s way of telling America, “This is your last chance USA, I’m giving you a very, very clear choice, Palin vs. Obama.....CHOOSE”. Sarah’s popularity was not cult of personality, (unless every average woman with a “PTA mom” persona has a cult following), it was that she was authentic, devoid of ego, simply wanting to do the right thing.

I have what’s called a “phone-book” philosophy on politics. I believe, strike that, I KNOW the country would be better off if we chose our Congressmen and Presidents randomly out of the phonebook instead of electing them. Let’s face it, it takes a lot of ego to run for Congress, as well as President. Regular people don’t wake up one day and say, “Ya’ know what, I think I deserve to be leader of the free world”. And it takes a lot of ego to take peoples hard earned money in donations, thinking “I’m worth it, gimme, gimme, gimme”! And the Ego of every candidate is what nudges them to “get along” and “play politics” when in office. It’s more important to be seen “as” President, and a distant second place to actually do the “work“ as President. The phonebook method would virtually eliminate the “Ego” quotient of the equation.

Sarah would have been our “Phonebook” candidate.

She was called up to be in the spotlight, she didn’t seek it. Sure, it took confidence to run for governor, but we know she would not have run for President; she was a God loving mom first, (and that’s probably why she quit), and would not have “needed” to be President. (i.e. she herself was the “reluctant” candidate Sarah talked so often about while campaigning for others in 2010)

Electing Sarah President would have been like electing our good friend and neighbor as President. Something the elites laugh uproariously at, but what we “regular” people know is desperately needed in Washington.

There were only two people in the wide field that were worthy of trust. My definition of “trust” involves both trust that the candidate will do what they say and say what they do, with no fear from us of their personal corruption as a result of ego and general corrupted personality to “play politics”, but also the proven experience standing up for what you believe in the line of fire, that Palin proved in Alaska taking on the oil companies. I “trust” Cain and Bachmann, but both are dreadfully inexperienced, so that I don’t “trust” them in actually getting the job done. Palin earned that trust in Alaska.

Now that Palin’s gone, the only other person I trust to do what he says is Ron Paul.

Heaven help us!

Paul’s shocking naivete in the August 11th debate when he was fine with Iran having the bomb, saying it is natural for Iran to want a bomb as it is surrounded by countries such as India, Pakistan and Israel which all have one, giving Iran the same respect a spoiled kid gets when he wants the toy all the other kids have, makes us realize how badly Palin was needed. I trusted Palin to take on the establishment and try to save the country, and I trust Paul to be a Whack-a-Doo-in-Chief.

In Palin’s case, I pray that SHE prayed, and that this is indeed her destiny. In her statement she said “ I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office”. All I can say is “good luck with that”. The importance of Palin was that she was NOT a carnival barker type politician, and she didn’t need the “kingmakers” in politics to support her, she could “outflank” the Establishment. She’s a regular person, and it was going to be a great blessing for America to get a “regular” person in the White House. I don’t need her insight who to vote for, I’ll ask my PTA mom down the street who to vote for, common sense is common sense, it’s everywhere but Washington!

And now she wants to be a “kingmaker” in Tea Party clothes? Liberals didn’t like her, the Independents didn’t really know more that the tidbits the press fed them, (which she could have countered in the campaign) we Conservatives were waiting very patiently, and now she dissed us.

Who’s left to listen?

“She is a quitter”

You don’t understand, and you’re too ready to call people names. Not running for President is in no dictionary “quitting”, and turning away from one pursuit doesn’t preclude another, or several.

Palin had a job as governor, and she quit it to be a TV star/media member.

She’s a quitter. The news about her not running has barely been a blip on the radar. She is a very big fish in the FR pond, but in the ocean of the country, she is just another celebrity.

What are her principles? She went from saying on a Newsweek cover that "I can win!" and there is a "fire in my belly" to not running in just a few months. I happen to believe that her own polls told her not to run. Her influence on FR was much, much larger than her influence on the GOP in general.

I wanted her to run as much as anyone on these boards, and although I’m admittedly a bit disappointed, I’m also at the same time oddly quite content over her decision. Even a bit happy for her. And I look forward to following her just as much as ever, as she continues her fight against the ‘permanent political class’ and Obama and the whole corruption in the system.

Although she has the right message and right vigor, the media-political complex was going to fire-bomb her to oblivion every hour of every day had she gotten into the race. They proved they will peddle out-and-out lies and smears with no moral qualms, towards not just her but her family. The GOP establishment would continue stabbing her in the back, preferring an Obama win over a Palin win. It would be like facing a fully armed, modern regiment with an antique shotgun.

I truly believe she has made the right decision, and it very well might allow her to get her ‘messages’ out more effectively, not being under the immediate media barrage. True, she loses a little by no longer perceived a potential candidate, but not nearly as much as I think some folks might be predicting.

She’s a quitter...

Because of supporters like you, Perry won't get my vote.

Agreed...and, a quitter never wins. 3rd party run would have just give us 4 more yrs.

If she really cared about winning she would have announced long ago. Once it became apparent the deadlines were approaching she had to come out and say, no, I’m not running.
And the hardcore followers are shocked, shocked...betrayed.
Fooled.

Worshipped like a messiah..high hopes...devoted followers...
Yes...She...Can. Sound familiar?

Well, them and because despite having run three gubernatorial races, another couple of statewide races, and whatever lower-level campaigns he’s run, the candidate himself is in no way, shape or form ready for a presidential campaign, let alone the job.

Perry was never going to get your vote anyhow.

Sorry to point out that Palin is a quitter, but she is.

Many of us believed Sarah was called by someone MUCH higher than McCain into the political world, and it was God’s way of telling America, “This is your last chance USA, I’m giving you a very, very clear choice, Palin vs. Obama.....CHOOSE”.

I felt the same, but maybe I was wrong. I'm considering the possibility that God called her, but that she blinked at the last moment. If she did, it's human nature. Even great figures in the Bible resisted God's call at times: Moses, Jonah, etc. They eventually came around but only after God smacked them around a bit to get their attention. Even Jesus prayed fervently that He wouldn't have to follow through on what He was called to do. I think maybe Sarah knew it would take a miracle for her to win the general election, and like Peter when walking on water, lost a little faith and faltered.

Remember the Palin family get together a few months ago when she supposedly made her decision? Bristol said her mom had made her decision, and while Sarah wasn't happy with Bristol for saying that she really didn't shoot that down. So if Sarah had decided back then not to run...why wait several months to announce that while so many supporters were waiting on pins and needles? I think perhaps Sarah decided TO run at that time, but on certain conditions and to announce at a certain time. Perhaps it was a delaying factor, and in the end Sarah just couldn't pull the trigger.

The recent book that came out on her with disgusting rumors perhaps played a part. I don't want to believe it, but maybe one or more of those stories have some merit of truth and Sarah feared more digging on those details would reveal that and embarrass her and her family further, or even cause her to drop out of the race.

It's also possible that the book coming out was God's way of telling Sarah that people are going to write and say bad things about her and her family whether she runs or not, and that by not answering His call, she would not be under His protection. If this is the case, it could be a bumpy road in the near future for Sarah and her family.

If she was called but didn't answer the call, maybe, just maybe there's a chance she will get in the race after God gets her attention.

Exactly. Here is how it works

Declare
Campaign
Win enough delegates/primaries, get nomination
Then hopefully win the final.

Some on here already had “Madame President” measuring the curtains for the White House and thinking up a cabinet.

But she didn’t even declare! Jumping the gun to an extreme.
Funny a lot of polls didn’t have her in there. Simple reason: not declared!

If she endorses Cain and Cain loses, Palin’s rapid descent into political irrelevancy will be complete.

True enough. I wonder what will happen to all those donations people made, people who were under the impression she had the "fire in the belly" (her words, IIRC) to run for president.

Wish I hadn’t paid my $100 for an “advance” copy of The Undefeated.

When duty called she hung up the phone.

This quitter business is getting ridiculous. If she did decide to run, IMO the top four would have been Cain, Palin, Perry and Romney. The odds of the Conservative votes having a three way split between Cain, Palin and Perry and Romney walking away a winner were too great. I am very disappointed that she didn’t run but for my own selfish reasons which generally showed more concern for my own future wellbeing than what might be best for her, her family and the potential outcome of the election.
